Well, it sure looks like Jim is pushing real hard for Deck to be bought out. Is he trying to help some friends? Will it happen? I think it's possible, but has to be for the right price. The value alone at this level has to be drawing several companies interest. The possible upside from here is at least 80 to 100% without a buyout. This cash cow is still growing here and abroad and has only scratched the market. Either way it's an excellent long play.
I don;t understand why we would want to be bought out. Why give up a treasure brand like UGGS for less than its real full value which is more than 80 imo. It's thoughts like these that investos make mistakes. I'm invested because Angel and Zohar are doing a fine job. They are making good decisions, after some errors in pricing.
But the brand is the premier brand in its style and while companies copy the classic, they are behind in the innovation like Bailey Button(which Zohar mentioned is becoming increasing more poular) as well as knit vesion of UGGS.
Also, the slippers and hadbags Company is really branching out.
