Z: You have made this suggestion of a name change in the past, and I let it go. But this time I must note that management would never make the mistake of naming the company after only one of their seven shoe brands.
I am also taking this chance to tell you to look into the Hoka One One brand that Deckers acquired in April of this year. (It's pronounced Hoka Onay Onay.) I believe this brand has huge potential. It is now a running shoe brand -- a gigantic potential market -- but could easily expand into walking shoes, hiking shoes, etc. Go, for example, to the Boulder Running Company website and read the reviews. I have never seen such enthusiastic reviews of a running shoe, and I am a long-time runner. It reminds me of the early days when I used to read reviews of UGGs and realized that DECK was going to be an amazing brand. Also, note how many of the sizes in the various Hoka styles are now sold out. Or go to Zappos and see how many sizes are sold out.
If you have a long-term perspective on DECK, Hoka is one of things that promises a very exciting future.
I believe that buying this brand again illustrates that Angel Martinez is nothing short of brilliant.
