I contacted the Calamos fund to see why the usual monthly report was not published in July. This is what they said.
Generally, the release date of this data is consistent and readily accessible to shareholders by mid-month. However, the delay in this July’s release was due explicitly by the overall volume to update quarter end and month end reports. Because of sequential order and various administrative timelines, a publication delay for CHI data occurred.
We expect future closed end fund data to be published and available in a more timely fashion.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and would like to thank you for your continued support as valued Calamos shareholder.

It is currently unclear whether CHI is earning its distribution. Since they use a level rate distribution policy, they may be paying some of the distribution back as retun of capital. Its currently trading a a premium a little higher than its average. If anything, consider picking up this and other CEFs when the share price is at a discount to NAV.
