OT: Protestors Arrested on French Nuclear Plant Grounds
In what has become something of a quarterly performance, Greenpeace protestors on Monday hopped the fence of another nuclear plant in France.
Photos on the group's French website show protestors using ladders to climb a concertina-wire-topped gate at Tricastin early in the morning. They used a projector to display messages on the side of a containment building criticizing the plant and French President Francois Hollande. Climbers also scaled plant structures and unfurled banners.
By noon, 29 Greenpeace protestors had been arrested, according to France 24. EDF, which operates France's reactors, noted that they did not access sensitive parts of the plant.
The group has staged similar stunts outside several European reactors. The French government said it would tighten plant security after similar incidents at the Nogent and Cruas plants in late 2011. Last May, a Greenpeace protestor landed a powered paraglider on the grounds of the Bugey plant, followed by a similar flight over the Garona plant in Spain the following month. In October, dozens of Greenpeace members entered the grounds of two plants in Sweden using bicycles and ladders. None of the protestors made it inside plant buildings.
What the word out of southern Ohio (Portsmouth/Piketon). Is there any chance this might continue or just another BS like the past 5yrs. Was back in the city for my 50th class reunion PHS 1960 in 2010. The city is on life support, even Mound Park looked run down. Take care and the best to you and Splanton.
There's some good news out on the ACP and the stock is up in premarket, but I still believe it's come too far, too fast. If a lot of people are attempting to protect their gains in positions with stop-loss orders, we could see a selling avalanche as the stock price retreats and more shares get dumped on the market on the way down.
