reinvest my last dividend in one of my accounts. It seems every time when we recieve the dividend it is a currant high. I have found by waiting somewhere between 1 to 2 weeks the price has fallen .50 to some times $1.00.any thoughts or other observations
Thank you all for the comments. It is interesting to see the different investing stratagies and ideas.Hope you do well
j_owley - I don't use DRIP as well. I reinvest my dividend between CIM and RSO which ever have a buying opportunity. As the price going down, It might go back to $6.15 to $6.20 on Monday for a short period. There's only 7 to 8 trading days left before you can be on record for dividend and I don't think there will be so much sellers than buyers.I'm guessing we will be at $6.68 to $6.75 by the 29th.Good luck!
I think i will buy some short term calls
j_owley,I doubt we are falling, as you suggest! Prices for stocks do not go up on a straight line. They zig-zag up and down on upward moving trend lines. We should close above $6.30 today, as the word gets out that the dividend has been announced. It's not the dividend alone traders are looking for, it is the price appreciation that the dividend drives. As for reinvesting the dividend, how much money are you talking about? All in all, worrying how to spend your dividend in 30 days, is probably much ado about nothing.GLTU
I agree from expirence that a DRIP will not get you best price avg when it comes to REIT investing. You're strategy is strong, wait about 2 weeks ex-date, and then reinvest the divi.
