This is the first time I've ever seen a dividend declared before the market opened. They used to release these announcements in the early afternoon. It makes no difference to me, but I thought it was interesting.
"The ex-dividend date is two business days prior to the record date". I believe that makes 3/27 the ex-div date. Must buy on or before 3/26 to get the dividend, on 3/27 no dividend. At least that is my understanding. GLL
i agree ray. moving forward rso potential to hit 20 cents by end of year looks very promising. jonathen cohen even stated rso will be at 20 cents by 3rd or 4th quarter and 25 cents in 2015. PATIENCE MY FRIEND AND YOU WILL BE REWARDED
While it is good to see your optimism I think it will take more than maintaining the $.80 annual dividend to move this stock much. Investors want to see capital put to work in high yield plays. Personally if the stock never moves up a penny but can keep paying this dividend for ever I will hold onto it forever. The reason the market undervalues RSO is lack of faith in it's ability to keep paying that high of a dividend in the face of modest use of its capital. I remain guardedly optimistic that this will occur soon. GLL
