This is in fact good news, but we must all keep in mind that a display is a display, and OLED displays are fantastic. But there could also be a high amount of cannibalization between LCD and OLED displays. That being said, if Corning can maintain a leadership position, then they can be a major player in the next technology for displays, and keep this business strong for another decade. Only drawback is if OLED's go to one piece of glass instead of two - I doubt Corning can get double the price. But market leadership is still market leadership.
The stock PANL which was up 20% yestreday and another 20% already today is going to sign a contracr with Samsung to use their OLED and you can bet Corning is going to get the glass business. You were guessing as to the pricing but remember that anything deemed specialty gets the pricing. Looks good for Corning.
