I just came back from the show. Everybody was waiting to see whether a brandnew red Cherokee could be won for the very last event. Now I have some follow-ups. I talked to Chris McNiffe, Sr. VP of 8x8 for an hour and tested the VoIP phone at the show on their network. The quality of the voice on the phone is absolutely crystal clear as compared with the IP solutions offered by Net2phone, Deltatree, Callrewards using Quicknet PC IP cards. More later.
I asked him the first question everyboby is interested in. That is whether the Sun server based Gateway supports Linux, the red-hot area of the day. And how many ports it supports for one gateway or "server box", and the touchy issue as pricing, and competitors, and when is the rollout time, etc. I will answer those questions in the next post and also try to answer some of the questions from investors on this board. BTW, I told them I am a serious investor, but I sold the shares when it hit 14 last year. "There will be a day you'll feel sorry for the shares you sold for 14," said Chris. "I'm glad to hear that," I replied.
