Value: Value is a measure of a stock's current worth. PMID has a current Value of $2.84 per share. Therefore, it is overvalued compared to its Price of $3.65 per share. Value is computed from forecasted earnings per share, forecasted earnings growth, profitability, interest, and inflation rates. Value increases when earnings, earnings growth rate and profitability increase, and when interest and inflation rates decrease. VectorVest advocates the purchase of undervalued stocks. At some point in time, a stock's Price and Value always will converge.
Jet, the numbers do lie, it's like comparing apples to oranges. PMID has a brew pub business and a soda business they sold which increased sales not profit. SAM's depletions were up 17% last year and are up 23% so far this year, plus they make money and have $80 million in cash. SAM is the class of the field they are in a different league than HOOK or PMID. As for HOOK they are in merger discussions, have excess capacity that Widmer needs on both coasts, and are 30% owned by this little company called Anheuser-Busch. I own all 3 stocks, but as an investment right now PMID is the weakest and will be until they either make some money or get bought.
