    Biodiesel Plant

I heard a rumor that the Hawaii PUC denied HECO's request to use biodiesel in it's new Biodiesel plant which will delay that project. I understand that State Government is requiring HECO to use more renewables and then the PUC shuts down delivery of the fuel. Can anyone enlighten us as to what on earth is happing in Hawaii? The State wants more renewables and then their PUC stops the contract. Does HECO management even talk to the PUC before they try to do things? My understanding is that this was a surprise to management.

    • Seems like everything these days are a surprise to Management. I would even bet they would be surprised to find that they are surprised. The management is too busy lazily driving into work and giving shaka signs to all the workers, to really care about business these days. They just want to cruise in, kick up their feet, drink a couple of coffees, laugh and joke, then head home early for the day to go for their twilight swim. Typical...

    • What a bovine mess - freakin' useless bureaucrats...

      • Like I said previously, management should be more aware of the negative financial impacts of these green energy deals. Stop this BS and do what they do best! They did postponed and cancel some needed maint and repairs to the existing power projects. Unfortunately, these delays will end up costing more down the road. They better get on the ball! However, I now an changing from a hold to a buy. They will not cut the dividend, and future bank and utility earnings will more than make up the added costs. I was surprised at the added pension and benefits cost. At this price, grab as much as you can. Good Luck Longs
