I think things are starting to look really positive!
We should hear by Monday that the cofferdam is working as expected and that 85%+ of the oil is now being captured. Then it won't be to much longer afterwards that we read articles about how a natural disaster was diverted due to the huge response.
Back slapping and political photos ops are sure to follow, and you'll know it's all over once BP starts airing their "We responded, and you should love us tv commercials"
I think life will return to normal for the GOM E&P companies faster than we think.

I hope you're right but I've yet to see anyone, including BP, say that this is 'expected' to work. Every account I've read has it as highly experimental and successful in 300 - 400 feet. I'm hoping for the best but there may be a long slog ahead of us yet.
