Considering a rough quarter for Fund performance, to beat by .06 and have highest DE since 07 for a Q1 is a considerable win. When they start realizing some of those imbedded gains their earnings will skyrocket, based on earlier comments some of that should happen this year. Shares are undervalued big time right now. Nice to see CNBC analyst get bullish yesterday too.
tradingplaces, I agree on all points. FIG is way, way undervalued. It has net cash and investments per dividend paying share of $2.97, and has $1.98 per share of "gross embedded incentive income that has not been recognized in distributable income". On last quarter's conference call, Wes Edens said it was expected that Fortress would harvest some of the investments made in 2006-7 in 2014, which as you point out bodes well for a boost in EPS this year!
I have been holding FIG for a few years now and will continue to hold onto it. I would like to see my investment to grow with FIG and wish it could double or triple in 5 or 10 years. I am currently using its dividend to make extra mortgage payments, but will possibly change to re-invest in FIG by buying more FIG shares.
