I agree wholeheartedly about the service. etrade recently bought HARRIS DIRECT of whom i was a customer i had a few questions and called custiomer service, and have waited on phone hold over 30 minutes 3 days in a row with no response yet. then emailed and still no response. I AM also thinking of switching to FIDELITY AND MAYBE EVEN FULL SERVICE BROKER.
I had a very bad initial experience with E*trade. However, this board definitely helped me. Someone had posted phone number of Executive VP. I verified it on Yahoo profile. I called the guy. His secretary took my phone number and a relationship manager called me back. He resolved my login issues (It was kind of my mistake, Though I was not able to get hold of anyone for 48 hours. I had tried holding the line for upto 4 hours).. The relationship manager was very nice and professional. He explained the difference in the account balances. I also have a snapshot from 10th.
In short, I was back in the online system. I always liked Harrisdirect. It was the best and E*trade has to really work hard to maintain it.
RIght now, I will hold my account with E*trade and evaluate their service for few months. If its good, I will continue with them.
I know where you're coming from in reference to waiting on the phone forever. I called Dial A Fag and they put me on hold. Waited 18 hours till they got back to me. Whats a guy to do? Woverxx was busy sweeping and Donk was sleeping.
