    • Day traders are starting to drift away perhaps since it's a longer term play with the new satellite build underway. Probably mostly held by big institutions, who don't frequent these parts. Not a lot to talk about right now either - I think they are a good long term play, but short term concerns on the US government business appear to predominate. Every now and then you get the usual GSAT fan-boys over here to bash the stock based on total FUD, hoping GSAT will be rewarded, though the opposite probably happens.

What do you believe is a good target?

      • us GSAT boyz ain't said nothing here that ain't in the best interest of the common investors

IRDM is just now starting down the same road that beat us up

back on october 16th i warned on this board that IRDM could easily lose half its value and it closed on that day @ $7.45

        it's well on its way

GSAT has immediate challenges of its own

should be a reverse split in the next few days and fund raising next Q

i'd advise againsnt buying into either of these stocks at this point in time

in the next couple months the dust will settle for GSAT

        for IRDM...

they'll have to suffer through the same failures to deliver from thales

thales, meanwhile has little incentive to deliver IRDM NEXT on time since they share (with harris) a lucrative contract for radio communications with the US defense department

a big advantage that IRDM has enjoyed over GSAT is the favoritism from the US government because there communications could be utilized worldwide without regard to any dissenting sovereign nation

problem now for IRDM is that (knowing that they didn't want to be dependant an any private company) the US government is now launching their own satellites (MUOS -mobile user objective systems) which will make IRDM expendable to them (MUOS will be up before NEXT)

so that leaves IRDM to compete with a resurgent GSAT which previously had superior voice quality and now will have far superior capabilty with IRDM's only advantage being able to provide service to the extreme polar caps and remote oceans (though inmarsat has a lock on the ocean revenue)

        big challenges ahead for IRDM

        as for us GSAT boyz

payback time is right around the corner

but i don't want to see no common folk hurt

hopefully cramer will come around again and do another pump & dump

        good luck
