Must read post on VIDA future potential with Mahala. I commend the writer very well written.
Let's look at a similar payment solution company PayPal and revenue facts from mobile purchases
PayPal processed $14 billion in mobile payment volume in 2012 – more than 3 times the mobile payment volume of $4 billion it processed in 2011.
PayPal expects to process $20 billion in mobile payment volume in 2013.
So for 2013, PayPal merchant transaction fees for $20 billion will be 2.9% of $20 billion which equals $580 million (sum doesn't include +.30 cents per transaction). That's a lot of money. This is just purchases on mobile alone.
I think there's plenty of room for other mobile payment solutions to participate in this multi billion dollar business and it's expected to grow even more. The question comes to how much payments will Mahala process when it goes mainstream?
Why interest in Vidaroo? How does it benefit Vidaroo?
It's anyone's guess right now how much payments Mahala will grab and is currently doing.
Vidaroo provides Mahala a means for customers to advertise and sell products directly from video using their SQR code and payment system. These videos can easily be linked in websites and social media sites which increases audience reach and greater sell potentials which means more transaction dollars in Mahala's pocket.
Vidaroo and Mahala signed a revenue sharing agreement. Here's one idea - Vidaroo's cut would be a percentage of the total transaction fees Mahala makes from merchant fees from products and services sold directly on Vidaroo's video platform.
It's easy to see monetizing directly through video. Anyone can easily create a video and sell their products by displaying a mobile scannable SQR code. They don't need to build their own ecommerce site or pay a site to sell their products.
It will be very silly of me to sell before all the up coming events this July, like worldwide online TV stations with Mahala payments codes embedded i
