WYNN, GALAXY all got approval from Macao Government for the new casinos in COTAI.
What's up with Macao Studio City ?
Same as what Macao Government always declare in news media - NO GAMING TABLES for this project ?
Will MPEL suffer a big loss from the acquisition of this project ?
Please share your opinion.
Ur completely wrong. MPEL already has land approval which is what WYNN just got. LVS also has land approval for Lot 3. The issue with all of them is building / table game approval. No one will build until they have assurances they will get tables. MPEL is much farther along in the game (so is LVS) than WYNN is.
Wrong! Wynn and LVS has government approval to start building casinos. MPEL bought MSC that has approval to build an entertainment complex...not casino!
Wynn/LVS/SJM/Galaxy/MGM submitted request for cotal casino projects many years ago. MPEL submitted couple months ago for MSC to include a casino. We could be waiting for couple years like Wynn or if we are lucky couple months.
My guess is that the table cap is already set this year and SCC took the remaining tables. Francis Tam Pak Yuen (secretary for economy and finance)reiterated couple days ago that Macau SAR will not loosen 5,500 table cap through 1Q 2013. If MSC would get approval for a casino it would be after new table cap are set. The government set a time line that could be now up to 1q 2013.
Stop stressing on gaming approval and focus of COD fundamentals. COD itself is generating enough revenues to warrant at least $18/share (avg analyst estimates). They have to focus on improving their gross margin.
Let's make the leap of faith and assume the corrupt Chinese thugs are still influenced by the corrupt thugs/Ho family..Studio City will get what it needs..Wynn "donated $135 million in Macau" the Ho's will do whatever is necessary.
what if the project is approved, as what Governo da Regiao Administrativa Especial de Macau usually publicly declared, but without additional gaming tables ? will it be a project without high profit expectation? Or even lose the acquisition cost ?
I heard that HO was not having "good relationship" with Governo da Regiao Administrativa Especial de Macau. Is that true?
