I was also confused about the non-reduction in some patients re SC....Sounds like FEV is the true indicator of progress from a statistical viewpoint. Although I'm sure the patients overall well-being is the truest (and best) indicator. If they feel better, can do more and maybe eventually reduce other non-cure treatments that would be a very positive move. Nice job Vertex, bringing so much comfort and hope to so many families.
Check the press release. Significant reductions in SC were observed over 28 days on VX-809 alone. The SC did not drop significantly more from day 28 to 56 when Kalydeco was added. Bottom line is that there was a stat sig improvement in SC. It was expected that it would happen due to Kalydeco being added. Actual results were that it happened sooner and due to VX-809.
