    Another sad story from Chicago

On the day that the senate is debating stronger gun control laws we get the following story:

    CBS (Chicago) reported:

"A teenage girl–an honor student who had just performed at President Obama’s inaugural–was gunned down Tuesday afternoon in the Kenwood neighborhood, just blocks from the high school she attended."

"15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton, was taking shelter from the rain with a group of 10 to 12 teenagers under a canopy in Vivian Gordon Harsh Park on the 4500 block of South Oakenwald Avenue around 2:30 p.m., when someone jumped a fence, ran up to them, and opened fire."

How could this have happened in a place that has the most restrictive gun control laws in the country?

Maybe the senate will be able to shed some light on this question.

    Maybe not.

The coach had put together the perfect team for the Chicago Bears. The only thing that was missing was a good quarterback. He had scouted all the colleges and even the Canadian and European Leagues, but he couldn't find a ringer who could ensure a Super Bowl win.
Then one night while watching CNN he saw a war-zone scene in Afghanistan . In one corner of the background, he spotted a young Afghan Muslim soldier with a truly incredible arm. He threw a hand-grenade straight into a 15th story window 100 yards away.
He threw another hand-grenade 75 yards away, right into a chimney.
Then he threw another at a passing car going 90 mph.
"I've got to get this guy!" Coach said to himself. "He has the perfect arm!"
So, he brings him to the States and teaches him the great game of football. And the Bears go on to win the Super Bowl.
The young Afghan is hailed as the great hero of football, and when the coach asks him what he wants, all the young man wants is to call his mother.
"Mom," he says into the phone, "I just won the Super Bowl!"
"I don't want to talk to you, the old Muslim woman says."You are not my son!"
"I don't think you understand, Mother," the young man pleads. "I've won the greatest sporting event in the world. I'm here among thousands of my adoring fans."
"No! Let me tell you!" his mother retorts. "At this very moment, there are gunshots all around us. The neighborhood is a pile of rubble. Your two brothers were beaten within an inch of their lives last week, and I have to keep your sister in the house so she doesn't get raped!" The old lady pauses, and then tearfully says,
"I will never forgive you for making us move to Chicago !!!!

    • Excerpts from a recent Reuters report:

"The rising murder rate has frustrated Chicago Police Commissioner Garry McCarthy and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who promised to make the city's streets safer when he took office in May 2011."

"Chicago's McCarthy said the city's high murder rate, up 18 percent over last year as of Dec. 16, was due to gang violence. Eighty percent of the homicides were gang-related and 80 percent of the victims were African-Americans, he said."

80% of Chicago's record killing level were gang-related!!! It appears those folks don't pay much attention to Chicago's strict gun control laws.

    • Crooked Chicago cops were selling confiscated weapons back to other gangbangers a few years back. Crooks will ALWAYS have guns. By the way, the loon that shot all these kids was a Satan worshiper. They don't talk about that do they? So was the one that shot the Congress woman in Tucson. Just like the Manson gang too. Hmmm.

    • "How could this have happened in a place that has the most restrictive gun control laws in the country?"

Likely because it is adjacent to a place that does not have restrictive gun control laws. See Mexico, Republic of.

      • As long as people like Holder and Obama supply guns to those outside the law within our country or outside our great country no one is safe.

As Obama and Holder found out, and fool or fools can distribute guns in another country and then have the same authorities in our country turn a blind eye while those weapons are transported back to our country to kill others.

Another example of Obama keeping the down trodden down and destroying this countries morale fabric.

Supported of course by those set to socialize this great nation.

      • "Likely because it is adjacent to a place that does not have restrictive gun control laws. See Mexico, Republic of."

So using your logic, because the gun laws of Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missori, and Indiana are not as restrictive as the gun laws of Chicago, then that is the reason that the death by gun rate in Chicago is so high.

Further if these other jurisdictions would make their gun laws as restrictive as the Chicago gun laws, then the death by gun rate in Chigago would go down.

        Honestly, is that your logic?

        Not trying to pass judgement.

Just trying to understand your logic.
