Boston Democrat governor reaction to marathon bombing
He got drunk and skipped out on bar tab
Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick says he got "quite drunk" at a restaurant the day after Boston Marathon. Patrick says he was relieved that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was captured on April 19 because otherwise people would have been complaining about the "shelter in place" order he gave that day, locking down Boston and several suburbs. Patrick said he had no money and couldn't pay his bill.
Gov. Patrick relayed how he went to a restaurant the day after the bomber was captured, not the day after the marathon. He also knew the owner of the restaurant and arranged to pay his bill the next day, which the restaurant owner said he did.
Can't say as I blame the guy. The pressure of the media and the simple pressure of looking for these guys had to be tremendous. There are other ways to relieve stress, but this was the way he choose and if it helped and didn't get in the way of his responsibilities, good for him.
