    • Good Afternoon....

I don't follow the prefrd's like a lot of others do. I used to. However, always howevers, I didn't want to follow them that closely [like we have to] should the common go "south" like some that I know [amd the prefrd's collapse]. It sort takes out the "Risk" association [IMHO]....

I normally use cef's [mutual funds---closed end type] to cover that sector. The managers of these funds then change their portfolio's in a more timely manner [as markets change]....

      Sorry I couldn't help more....

      • I would appreciate your insights on RVT, as I have never owned a closed-end fund. On Royce Funds' website, the Net Asset Value of RVT is $17.00 and the stock is trading at $17.94.

Why is this closed-end fund worth the premium to NAV when you could purchase a similar high-quality open-ended Royce Fund?

Disclosure: I do not currently own RVT or any other Royce Funds, but have heard good things about their management style.
