Today there was 35,000 more shares traded than a normal day. This equals on todays price, $167,500.00. Something is going on that we don't know about. There are no Insider Trades of record that are current.
Piece of crap companies like Newpark should not be publicly traded to begin with. This company has everything going against it: (1) it has only one line of business that competes directly with the likes of Halliburton and Schlumberger; (2) the exec team is brand new, i.e. a bunch of amateurs that quit their other mid-senior level jobs to play CEO and CFO; (3) small amount of cash on the balance sheet; (4) unlikely to expand its core business, and even more unlikely to make a significant acquisition.
Take it from me Newpark: sell your business to one of the majors, cash our your options and close shop.
I don't get it, How long ago was it that Howes announced that NR was borrowing $25 million to buy their stock back, to keep the price 'up'.
Soon after, Howes sells 10,000 shares Mar 21? How is that not insider trading? He knows when and how much they will be buying of their own stock.
Frustrating to watch. Where's the SEC in all this.
Reported net income was $6,746 Thousand. You need to look at the top of the table to know what you are reading. Better yet, read the company release and/or 10Q available at www.sec.gov/edgar. fector
I got this off of Thompson on the AOL board, will recheck it. Thanks for noticing...
I missed todays volume. Can you believe this increase? I'm in at $5 and finally have a green number on my ticker. Are we headed for six a share again? Analysists are still projecting 7 for the year. What do you think?

Somkey, went back to October and found no other postings under your name. Apparently you have not read the comments on this message board. You ask, "What Do I Think?" I think you need a good Broker to advise you before you invest in a stock with a -.25 EPS and No Yield. Have you not read the comments about very poor management, firings, fraud, top people leaving? Then of course there are the lawsuits to think about when you hope this will jump to the Target Price of $7.82. The two Brokers I deal with, one has NR as a SELL, the other has it as UNDERPERFORM. Not a very rosey or confident picture, eh.....Now Smokey, "Thats What I Think" Maybe you should make a slight change to your name, Smokeypayem! Good luck anyway....
Bottom fishing in the weeks prior to an earnings statement. It happens all the time. Watch it drop soon after the conference call, if not the same day. Also, the oilfield services sector made a bit of a recovery the last few trading days after being beaten up the past few weeks. Learn this stock, learn the sector, and learn stocks in general. And you won't have to ask questions like this.

Thank you so much Insiderdude for your advice and council. I'm wondering if you followed your own advice why you still own it. Your logo indicates you are an employee, why haven't you shared with us what is going on internally. If you don't ask questions, how do you learn about the stock? Oh so much to ask and so little time.......
