"Veal is bad for you. That's probably the source of his problem"
Huh! You talkin' to me? Are you talkin' to me?
I don't eat veal. I eat the cows but I don't eat the babies.
I should eat lions and alligators.
Anyway, the subject is the stock market, not the stock YARD.
"My legal interpretation is the short sellers MUST eventually cover their shorted stocks"
Your legal interpretation is WRONG. This stock and many others that don't come out of Bankruptcy simply have their shares cancelled. This stock does not have any possibility of exiting bankruptcy. The shares will be gone soon enough. Even if they don't get cancelled, Those who have it can't sell it, those who short it do not have to pay anything out and the margin requirement to keep it shorted will be infinitesimal, if any requirement at all.
lol.....you don't like it because you don't understand it. Simple as that. But you stay away, that's your choice. I'm up over 65% this year by buying quality companies (certainly NOT this one....lol). It will never cease to amaze me how people complain about the market are the same ones investing in crap like GM. LEARN!
"I mock you openly for saying MTLQQ won't go to $0.00."
If the short sellers stop selling short and refuse to buy back and the stock long owners refuse to sell. No trades. Does that mean the stock price is $0?
Billionaire corporate raider Carl Icahn bragged in the media that he made $130 million short selling the CNC stock when the Conseco (Indiana corporation) stock went to $0.
Fuzzy bookkeeping. The short sellers must STILL buy back the shorted stocks or STEAL them back, maybe.
My legal interpretation is the short sellers MUST eventually cover their shorted stocks. The stocks may eventually be "called" and the short sellers are forced to immediately buy the stock. Or the bank may just keep charging interest from the short sellers accounts on the borrowed stocks until the interest payments eat away the short sellers equity.
I don't like the stock market. It's about greed and power. Not admirable qualities in people. Wall Street is an ugly trap. Stay away.
