how much of this month's large payout do you estimate is due to the one time settlement and how much is likely to be recurring (assuming NG prices don't fall)? Even though I said CRT is my favorite of these trusts, I do also own MTR and was surprised by the large payout. I think a big part of it is a one time 'special' payout though.
The revenue from normal operations excluding the special payout was higher for April verses May. The yield is running at 10% excluding this special distribution. The units were outperforming all the R/T's on price performance basis even before the special distribution was announced. Furthermore, anyone reading the disclosures would have known the special distribution of som magnitude was a possibility. That said, I too was surprised by the amount, however MTR was a good performer well prior to this news. Based on the outlook for gas, the distributions will maintain 10% for the the remainder of the year, although this does have the possibility of further price appreciation. Buying and holding these trusts indefinitely is not my style, I have held this only for the last 5-6 months.
