I happen to know that TXI is getting the concrete contract for the new Disney theme park going in in North Texas. Project was to start in November but has been delayed. Not sure for how long but hopefully will start by spring.
Wow. I could only get the cliff's notes version since I am not a subcriber. Do you think then, it was merely a coincidence that Shamrock bought into TXI? 55 million is a lot of $$ to spend on a concrete company in the middle of a recession. Shamrock is headed up by former Disney execs and Roy Disney himself. I have read a lot about the Shanghai park Disney is proposing. Interestingly, Ewing Management Group is helping with the Shanghai park and if I am not mistaken, they are a Dallas based company with an office in Shanghai. I wonder if they would have something to say.
Just got to the office this morning and on my desk is the Dallas Business Journal. Front page headline: Land once suject of Disney rumors, now focus of suit.
In a nut shell this is whatI'm getting out of it all. Two related real estate companies are being sued by investors who claim the firm dupped them into buying land near what rumor has as Disney coming to town. Long story not intrested in typing it all.2/5/2009 addition
