    proposed gasification plant

This is good news for area.God only knows people up north need jobs and not just cleaning rooms and serving drinks. Do you know if the new coal fired plant in rogers city will go? Again many high paying jobs now and in the future. City of cheboygan has a group looking at a least a dozen new businesses around the county.

    • hey ...what a trip??? as a matter of fact I work for the alpena news, but live in rogers city...the status of the proposed wolverine power plant now is in the hands of the infamous Department of Enviremental Quality...and with the new regulations our governor has issued the plant seems more and more unlikely with each passing day. Wolverine Power has errected some wind towers out on the point behind where the sight would be built...just very worried out the DEQ and the EPA...the Seierra club has also been a thorn in our side. they are somewhat oblivious to what this facility would mean in NE Michigan...the public support has been huge...we are keeping our fingers crossed...I am much more confident about the DTE will take the passing of three different board of commissionrs and found feasable by DTE, but from what i have personally wittnessed it is almost a done deal...the final determination will be in no more than another 4 months....if you would like updates on these issues, feel free to e-mail me at ....or srchive WINGS!!!!
