In light of today's massive rally, the short syndicate refuses to pay any more bar tabs.
It's just sad. Some people only understand dollars and cents. I tried to explain, to no avail, that the volume was not all that impressive today. I would be more concerned if we moved up to 35-40 million shares on the tape. The short syndicate thinks strictly short term with a time horizon of hours and days, and quite often minutes. They fail to grasp the big picture, and as their humble servant (hack), this is particularly frustrating. I am feeling completely unappreciated, and there's a good chance I will transfer to one of those Chinese boiler rooms; I have already filled out the paperwork for the operation which frequently posts here. You know which one. There will be certain fringe benefits in Shanghai I needn't describe. I did find something poetic about their slaughter of the King's English. E.E. Cummings never followed grammatical rules, so why should they?
I do have the ultimate trump card. The short syndicate doesn't know I quit drinking 18 days ago. I did have an alcohol allowance--drinking on the job--written into my contract. I was very upset when they installed a breathalizer on my computer, in an effort to monitor my intake. I had an ex-wife like that years ago. They only know the old Mike, that I would lick their bootstraps for my next drink. They are in for a very big surprise. There's no point telling them the ZNGA carnage will be quite severe in 2013. I'll probably be singing Karaoke with my little China girl by then.
