To the best of my knowledge, the Honda catalysts are all produced in Oxnard. DPF's are also produced there, but the company has a facility in Toronto as well that was being used to ship product to Europe (ie. for the London LEZ opportunity). The challenge has been that excess capacity exists because CARB has ramped more slowly than expected...we need that business to pick up to absorb the excess capacity.
Some have raised the issue that it's a bad sign that the company brought in a guy from Cummins to market DPFs. I take the opposite view. Craig is trying to build a sustainable business outside of these limited duration programs like CARB, NJ and London LEZ. The guy from Cummins has experience marketing to on-road OEMs (and possibly off-road OEMs though I am not sure). Having him on board is a great addition in terms of trying to secure design wins that will create a more recurring revenue stream for the company.
