I am beyond heavily invested in SIRI and want it to do nothing more than shoot through the roof, but, given the importance of beginning and completing the buyback with the intention of getting as many shares out of SIRI's high share count, does anyone realistically believe that Liberty is going to divulge or announce anything that will send the share price of SIRI through the roof?
I had hoped there would be more buying activity at the share prices of last week and earlier this week, but the volume doesn't show anything other than less shares than usual.
I would expect a slight pop Tuesday followed by a minor retracement in the following weeks. Again, there is no benefit to anyone to allow or cause the share price to run at this point......
LJT.......you have to consider the fact that Liberty, just put a slew of new board members on, have just recently taken a majority stake in the company, and have a lot to consider, since SIRI is their crown jewel. The next few moves need to be contemplated, so that they can maximize this companies potential and by being somewhat methodical, it will leave little room for error.
In my humble opinion, Malone is doing this properly and we will wake up one day in the very near future to the headlines "SIRI shorts being talked off the ledge" or better yet, since shorts have lost everything due to their own selfish stupidity, it may be better if some of them jump!!!!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I get it, trust me I do. But, there in Liberty's mind has to be some motivation to get as many shares off of the table as possible as it benefits Liberty's value down the road as well. Why release plans or direction of significance now instead of at a latter point this yea?. The ultimate share price at a given point in the future I would believe, should be higher if an additional 100K shares are off the table due to the buyback being executed at a lower average cost.
...or perhaps Liberty doesn't care in the slightest considering the deal they received from Mel in their original bailout of SIRI......
regardless, malone seems to be a visionary and I am hopeful that he thinks there are significant additional dollars to be earned on the intitial invenstment in SIRI. Globalization, especially with the future availability of cars with internet streaming seems a logical direction.
