Hey, if anyone is interested in being a CFO, QCOR is hiring. I personally think its a good thing, but kind of interesting that they would post that up on their public job board. I think currently their CFO is both CFO and General Counsel and Corporate Secretary which all could be individual jobs so my guess is their growth has made it more important now that they have someone dedicated purely to that role.
Anyone else have ideas?
A new CFO would be a good thing. The current CFO might be the most competent numbers guy in the world, but as a lawyer he will always be considered by Wall Street to be a fish out of water. And no one can say the communication with Wall Street has been stellar over the past year. So let the current CFO stick to Corporate Counsel, great.
There was a reason I didn't post this info on the message board and instead put it on the vunderbra site--I didn't want everyone's undies to get bunched up. This is the bio of their current CFO, his plate is clearly quite full. Seems like a smart decision to get a dedicated CFO.
Here are the take aways from the ad:
Questcor is seeking a CFO to provide financial leadership during its next phase of expected growth.
The successful candidate will have experience communicating with Wall Street and interacting with investment bankers. The candidate needs to command the respect of these communities and clearly understand the concepts of shareholder value.
The candidate reports directly to the CEO. The candidate needs to possess strong analytical skills and be able to interact and work closely with other senior executives—Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, SVP of Business Development, EVP and Chief Technical Officer, and Chief Scientific Officer. The candidate will be a key executive in the company’s growth and, as such, will have a major role in the development of the company’s strategies and plans to execute those strategies.
---It's clear that they are just splitting up Michael Mullroy's role. See his titles below.
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Mr. Mulroy joined Questcor in January 2011. From 2003 to 2011, Mr. Mulroy was employed by the law firm of Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth, where he served as a partner from 2004. At Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth Mr. Mulroy represented Questcor and other publicly-traded companies. From 1997 to 2003, Mr. Mulroy was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch and Citigroup. Mr. Mulroy earned his J.D. degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and his B.A. (Economics) from the University of Chicago.
Goldtean. Are you saying the CFO Chief Financial Officer position is vacant. If so that is a BIG deal. Surely that is incorrect as a position such as that would not be posted on a public board. Thx
