4.5B divided by 45M shares outstanding = 100 per share
You would be absolutely correct in a situation was rumor driven, or based on sheer speculation. Many claim that is all this is. I disagree. We have a pretty clear picture of what is happening here. Google wants our IP. The IP has in effect already been valued by the Nortel action. It seems pretty clear to me.
Nobody is saying it is a done deal. But I see the risk as in my favor at this level, around 72.50
I totally agree with your comments. Just advising some prudence regarding the euphoria.
A week ago it was common knowledge that IDCC had 8,000+ patents and 10,000 more in the works, but it was selling in the low 40s. Now, all of a sudden everyone and their brother recognizes IDCC was undervalued and are speculating on the proper valuation.
Do any of the posters know what the quality of IDCC's patents are? Are they of comparable value/quality as Nortel's. Sheer numbers of patents don't really tell the story. Can anyone on this board say with certainty that IDCC's patents are worth as much as the $4.5B Nortel's brought?
In the market, situations can turn on a dime... in either direction. As some wise man said, "it ain't over till it's over".
All that said, I'm holding for now, and wish'n and hope'n... that the euphoric ones are correct. (yea, I can be a bit of a piggy myself)
