Google now in the device manufacturing business. Other manufacturers can use Android but don't expect any lawsuit patent protection from GOOG. Their loss will be Googs gain. With Apple suing Samsung and Goog making its own phones I think there is an incentive for Samsung to build some cross licensing fire power. Samsung has the market cap to do it.
All I know is that the smartphone market is growing quickly and major players continue to make acquisitions in the space for patents or products. This is simply confirmation. I seriously doubt this is the last acquisition done in this space. My recommendation would be to to ride through the volatility and see what happens. My guess is that someone will buy these patents because the market is growing so quickly. The acquirers will want to impress the Street....and hopefully, make some money.
Sit tight and let the shorts on this board do their magic. Wasn't last week's scare the GTT memo?
