I guess I am the opposite of diversified. Im all in patent stocks. Feast or famine. Ive got Jan 80's. I am hoping this thing hits like we expect VHC to hit without the longer wait time. I think you will be quite pleased with those dec 70's either way, buyout or not
"Exactly..Caveman says he knows pancreatic cancer doesn't give you any energy. Next sentence caveman says Jobs is taking himself out of day to day. So which is it."
How are those in any way contradictory statements???
Whc, I said "involved" with the talks, not "aware" of them. He has obviously been getting briefings. But, his actual involvement in the hands-on operations, including the discussions with IDCC, I can assure you have been handled by others.
Exactly..Caveman says he knows pancreatic cancer doesn't give you any energy. Next sentence caveman says Jobs is taking himself out of day to day. So which is it. He hasn't had any energy for months but was doing day to day on other things. Jobs would be getting daily updates. Most of the biographical info on Jobs talks about him wanting to be in control. Most of it talks about him being a control freak. He would be in control and want to be controlling the purchase of IDCC. A shift in business strategy of not buying IDCC is not a shift in corporate culture. I worked at a firm that had a shift in corporate culture because they kept hiring Citigroup execs who destroyed the culture. It became a horrible working envorionment business model changed completely. Not the same thing as not buying IDCC.
Caveman, Im sorry to say but if you really believe that he hasnt been around for ANY talks since Jan, I believe you to be absolutely wrong. Im sure he is getting chemo treatments and drinking wheat grass all day. Wrong, he gets info on a daily basis. come on maaan
Because I know what is going on when you are on medical leave for Pancreatic Cancer ... you don't have the energy, focus, or stamina to be engaged in high-level talks involving billions of dollars. Which is the reason he has removed himself from the day-today operations of AAPL since the beginning of the year.
There hasn't been an official bid from AAPL yet (or anyone else, for that matter) because IDCC isn't accepting offers until after Labor Day, according to press reports. And, if you are asserting that AAPL is no longer interested in IDCC because Jobs is no longer CEO, then you ARE suggesting a major shift in corporate culture at AAPL. Especially considering that new CEO Cook has been a major force in most of the company's recent acquisitions, including NT's patents.
And, you are right, I am reading too much into your comments. In fact, I shouldn't be giving them any attention at all since they are so utterly ridiculous!
