InterDigital moves lower following a DealReporter story
According to contacts, DealReporter said a deal for InterDigital could be in the $1B-$2B range, below investors expectations.
It's the placement of the comma!! read it as 1-2 billion below expectations as opposed to a TOTAL value of 1-2 billion!!!
"According to contacts, DealReporter said a deal for InterDigital could be in the $1B-$2B range, below investors expectations."
Had there been no comma, you would have been right.
You'd do well if you you go back to grammar school.
No reason to think either interpretation is true. DealReporter has been used as a tool of the shorts and the market makers throughout the auction process. If this process goes on another month without any comment from Janet Point and IR, the company's stock will be back in single digits.
IR is negligent in the extreme in not quashing the DealReporter rumor. You would have thought Janet might have noticed that her stock price was down 20%!
Sorry, does not read as $1-2 below...it reads as though the offer is $1-$2B...now it could be a grammatical error, not the writer's intention, or, perhaps the writer's intention to cause confusion.
Amazing, none the least!
