Hello all----I'm still hanging in there and will
continue to do so. Good long term, dividend paying
stock. One nice thing about board, even though it
is quiet, is that the naysayers, political posters,
and soap boxers are laying low. What all boards
need is input pertaining to the stock at hand, rather
than a bunch of baloney. Hang on to SPH.
Read the MLP Primers on Alerian's website:
There you will learn you bought into a partnership, not a corporation, and it does not pay dividends, it pays distributions. Most of the money you'll receive is tax deferred.
SPH is one of my core holdings, earning me about 10% based on my original cost.
The next dividend will be paid on 11/13/07. This is a quiet board with people who simply enjoy making money. I bought the stock in 12/04, and have had a total yearly return of 20%. Hold on to it people always need gas to cook and heat their home. Take a look at APU.
Does anyone have info regarding the last and next Divident Payout Date?
According to http://suburbanpropane.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=63
Q: How often are distributions paid?
A: Distributions are paid approximately 45 days after each quarter end.
For December, payment is mid-February
For March, payment is mid-May
For June, payment is mid-August
For September, payment is mid-November
To receive a particular quarter's distribution, you must own the units as of the close of trading the day before the ex-dividend date.
