    Ex-Date for $1.60 Special Dividend

This is what I found so far for the ex-div date, what a full of bologna!!! Talk about discrepancies!

    Bloomberg Business Week - June 5th, 2013
    Ameritrade (fullofabs) - June 5th, 2013
    SeekingAlpha - May 3rd, 2013
    MarketWatch - May 3rd, 2013
    Barron's - May 3rd, 2013
    Investor's Hub - May 3rd, 2013
    WSJ - May 3rd, 2013

Looks like the insiders have gamed it. Checkmate for us small fry. NASDAQ turns a blind eye. Hate to say this, but my sentiment has completely changed now.

    Sentiment: Hold

    • Why has your sentiment changed? this investment has to do with how much money enzn can dish out to investors over time-- over the next 5 yrs, can enzn dish out at least 3.29 in dividends? I think they can get at least that. There seems to be little risk here. How much upside is debatable-- could be very little if enzn can't minimize expenses and keep generating consistent royalty revenue. But, you're not going to get crushed in this position (assuming pegintron doesn't get banned, or something drastic like that)

    • the ex-dividend date is may 3rd, since the date of record, per enzon's press release, is may 7th. I don't understand why there is any confusion here. ENZN can't just lie to us.

      • Stockprophet you seem to be missing the point, the date of record by itself does NOT set the ex-dividend date, IT in conjunction with the AMOUNT of the dividend determin the ex-div date, and if the AMOUNT of the dividend is 25% or more the the ex-div date is , well here, let me let you read it directly (according to FINRA):

        Dividends Or Distributions
        25 Percent Or Greater Than
        Security Value
        The second method, under
        subparagraph (b)(2) of Rule 11140,
        provides that for dividends or
distributions that are 25 percent or
greater of the value of the subject
security, the ex-date shall be the
        first business day following the
        payable date.

Hope the helps you understand/join the confusion.
