I am long, but sold the other day at $23. Wanted to buy back in last night at $22, but didnt get the chance. Wanted to buy back in this morning at open, got called into a meeting and didnt get out til 9:45 missed the spike and bought in at $24.78.
Just looking for thoughts if that purchase at $24.78 was still ok, or should i be sick for missing the buy at $22?
I first bought this stock at 2.20....sold and re-bought a few times but my new rule is HOLD....HOLD...HOLD. Better off in the long run (to hold) but never too late to get back in.
Be disgusted about selling a bio whose promise is weighted heavily to the long side. The pullback was pretty normal for a bio product at this stage as it 's caused by either manipulation, light/ weak hands, or bigs who have decided to accumulate. Ride the rough waters and don't be so fast to react.... Could happen again.....several times!!
Someone else mentioned it. In the long run, the $2 won't mean much. I bought and sold 1,000 @ $6 and missed the entire run to $29 which makes me sick. I bought back 1,200 @ $22.75 and will hold until $200 or ACAD is acquired. I would buy more if I had any free cash. Unfortunately, half my portfolio is trapped in limited-option 401K mutual fund Hell. The other half is in ServiceNow which I bought @ IPO.
You know what? because you read too much of the messages posted by those TA guys in this board and being scared and sold. Now you need to pay higher price to buy it back and also, need to pay tax for the shares you sold at $23. Is that worthy? I know you are waiting to buy below $20 which suggested by crecy_war. Let me ask you this, if ACAD drop to below $24 again tomorrow, will you sell those shares your paid $24.78 today? and waiting for $20 again? If you don't know the answer then no one can give you answer.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
You bought after it broke the upper resistance...so you should be ok now, resistance now is good support at about $ 23.36. This is one reason why you have to be able to pull the trigger when the stock is Over SOLD with weak support after a long run up. You can BUY & HOLD but when it starts to retrace you fell stick watching your profit melt away.
