Then they said he's a loser. Then they claimed he was a collaborator in a conspiracy to defraud along with Dr.Cheung. Then he relinquished his position as chairman of the board and simply became a director.
But say what you want about MAX LINK, the man is ONE ASTUTE PLAYER.
All the while the haters hated, and the bashers bashed Link and Chueng, holding them accountable for the pillaging of this company's wealth and a string of bad deals for the public while the insiders got ever greater lucrative deals. Mr. Link was accumulating a HOARD of shares in AXLN. While we fretted and moaned about the horrific performance in Celsion, shares of ALXN, very slowly at first, crept up and up and UP and UP from the mid teens 2 years ago all the way up into the triple digits. Recently that all changed. Guess what Senor Max has been doing? Selling. He recently sold well over ONE HUNDRED OF THOUSANDS OF SHARES OF ALXN at prices ranging from 95.00 to 104.00 and has RAISED MILLIONS OF DOLLARS!
NOW, IF YOU PLEASE, GUESS where he's been putting that massive hoard of his profits?????
YOU GUESSED IT! RIGHT BACK INTO CLSN baby!!!
So far Max has amassed 261,025 shares of Celsion.
And my guess is that this guy will soon be acquiring EVEN MORE. In fact, if my suspicions are correct, Mr. Link knows how to read the tea leaves in small cap biotech and pharma better than anyone in the biz. He's not just good. He's REAL GOOD.
MAX LINK is is no idiot, and judging by his past performance, one could easily make the case that he is a GENIUS! Whatever he is or does, you DON'T want to go against him. Trust me on that.
Take a look at the Yahoo stats, do your own DD and give me your feedback. Am I being too enthusiastic in interpreting his behavior lately?
Nice post. Another interesting point - Dr. Link has apparently only bought shares in Celsion (and Alexion), although he also serves on the Board of Directors of Discovery Labs and CytRx Corp. - showing his belief in the first two.
Celsion is so under the radar that even Alexion didn't feel it worth mentioning that Link sits on the board.
The pharma and financial world is going to think differently of little clsn after positive results and approval.
Im with you. If Max Link has the faith to purchase 261,000 shares, I think I can sleep a little easier while we wait for the meeting with the DMC. That, of course and our CEO's words during the conference call. It's pretty rare you get to hear a CEO so optimistic, so confident that 8 years of effort are about to pay off.
You know I never trust what management says... talk is cheap... I do, however, trust implicity what management does in its own self-interest... your expose of Mr. Link is just another example of management acting in a way that shouts they believe a positive data release is just around the corner...
Not selling pre-data, not partnering pre-data, no insider sales of share pre-data... I trust the management behavior... if that behavior changes I will reconsider, but until then... my money, in this case, is with Max...
Thanks again for your thoughtful and informative post...
Great post eggcamefirst, I was certainly intrigued.
Mostly all before my time. I guess Im just lucky that I came along now rather than back then. Thanks for the retrospective on Max Link. Im not sure if he's the same person but I found information on him and he was also Chairman of the Board of a Swiss company called CenterPulse that got bought out in 2003.
Mad Max is definitely a firm believer. His large purchases at high prices tells me he has been a believer for a very long time. I think he is about to become richer than he ever thought possible. JMHO.
