champ- if you are referring to me don't bother, I DONT' FOLLOW ANYBODY, you or jim, however i do apreciate all opinions SOMETIMES they are considered when making my own. i think you exagerate (sp?) jims influence, it's fine you disagree w/him but
if people can't use their own minds in this vicious game then it's their own fault, not your duty to save the board even IF you could :)
west- good advice, HOWEVER for me i love to push the edge, and have plenty powder (humbly). teaching myself since 2000, had to change from invester to trader since 2007. never put up more than can afford to lose and don't use margin except to get around settlement dates. anyway think we can get another .30 tomorrow which would give me excellent return for week. Not at all. The most successful people keep an open mind to all options and learning. Realizing you don't know it all can be a safeguard. Learning from others doesn't mean you have to use their techniques nor does it mean that you have to waste energy discrediting them or pissing off other people.
I have been burn't by leaving too much on the table. Stops are tighter and so are profits in my trading accounts. Retirement accounts I only trade on days like this. Can you trust this rally? I do firmly believe in GNW. Best recipe is to keep powder, maintain a base position and take opportunities when available.
