The loss of so much Samsung business certainly explains the RMF'D collapse.

Also explains the huge SWKS rally.

Surprising RMF'D has held up so well, all things considered.

    • the "RF" chip business is a zero sum game. the increased revenue @ AVGO & SWKS take away the pie from the other bit players of TQNT, RFMD, and ANAD. when I bought SWKS in may of 2005 RFMD had more revenue than SWKS. RFMD also had 100 million shares less outstanding in 2005.

    • ......and how do you know that RFMD has lost business to SWKS......or is this one of those "read between the line" assumptions?

      • Does this sound like they're losing share at Samsung? If anything it seems the opposite!

you stated that "alpha industries just changed their name to skyworks solutions." actually it was a merger of CNXT's wireless operations with alpha in 2002. AVGO was created in 2005 with its' roots in HPQ. the beginning of the end for RFMD.
