Can't stand this anymore. Capitulation? You bet! Made a terrible mistake yesterday buying 2000 @ 7.28.
but i'm man enought to admit it. Will be back in again when everything settles down. Looking at phk right now as a possible alternative for a 10.5% div. Mreit's are falling apart for no apparent reason right now.
"Calling midnight is much more difficult than it sounds but is essential to REIT investing. One day shareholders of these companies will be burned either by dilution, lack of earnings, or bankruptcy. The question is when. Anyone who can successfully call the end of the party could make enormous gains in the process. However, those who do not think they can should just stay out of the way of the incoming carnage." The Motley Fool
I believe this reit is paying $.10 dividend per share which puts it at about 16% plus or minus depending on the current price. Good luck at doing better on anything else. I currently have my 401k in scottrade and the dividend is making my car payment each month. Beat that will you! Sell if you want but you will miss the dividend. Wish I had another $30,000 to put into this. Jim
Per Fred Kane:
I now believe that the share price of ARR is going to drop from $7.3 to $4.86 in three years. Should that happen then the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over that period is a NEGATIVE 14.47%
In addition, I believe the ANNUAL dividend will only be $.25, within three years.
This all will happen because of that silly Seeking Alpha article, whici is clearly misleading since ARR isn't a mortgage REIT and doesn't borrow large sums of money to invest in mortgage-backed securities.
It disappoints me that Seeking Alpha is so often used as a source of information by investors and it publishes such misleading articles.
