I say Nixon was a crook...but he ended the war in Vietnam and open relations with China...that doesn't take away from the fact he was a crook.
Bush is just a carbon of his dad...trying to finish what his dad started with Iran, but didn't finish in Iraq because of the balance of power in the region at the time.
I say we need WAGE INFLATION...everything else has gone up, now it's time the paycheck catches up to the higher cost of living.
To be serious for a moment, I don't understand the thinking behind some of the conclusions that people come to on this board. "Trickle Down" has been the republican economic theory since Ronald Reagan. Theoretically it works best when nothing trickles down at all. This is why wages have not kept up with inflation. Cutting to the chase, most on this board seem to think if you put the spoiled milk back in the refrigerator it will be fresh tomorrow. Although everybodys a crook in politics, you have to vote for the crook that works for you. Ask yourself, how were the Clinton years. If times were better for you than, vote democrat. If not vote republican. Simple?
Voters do care about race...No white man really wants to see his daughter marry a black man...nor do the voters that "don't have a clue"(uneducated) want a black "affirmitive action" president. And it's not just whites.
While a lot of voters don't know what funding the election is about, (BIG Money influencing), they do know what "flip-flopping" is about...
i understand the two party system sucks. and our two viable choices are at best lacking the leadership abilities and knowledge to take us into what i believe will be the most trying times in my lifetime, and at worst they could even make Bush look like a good president. what say you?
"...because...lobbyist..." good point
The consumer have 'grassroot power', by asking for more money in the paycheck the comsumer is putting pressure on employers...unions ain't what they used to be...but the 'concerted' efforts of the consumer can be a far greater power than any lobbyist.
