Usually, there are two emotions that drive the markets: greed and fear. Now, there is another: hate.
People hate the banks and AIG because of the bail outs. If the hatred can subside, their stocks can recover some of their losses. But nobody knows how long it will take for this to subside.
JPM and Wells Fargo are doing fine. Many regional banks are doing fine. AIG has recovered nicely. The people who hate "the banks" never liked them anyway. You paint with too broad a brush.
