A concurrence with the NBS decision to go to Newtown CT and away from Foxboro...

Youse can comprehend the difference between an NFL great match-up (#1 Offense vs. #1 Defense) and the grief of a small New England city in mourning over the tragic, senseless murder of innocent fellow Americans, including twenty (20)! First-Graders..

The President of the United States is saying the right things and bringing some comfort to a community and nation examining its faults and failings as yet another madness acts out his craziness in a killing frenzy. All IMHO.

    • I disagree, oblunder chose that moment and was on plenty of stations.

This was as pathetic as showing OJ in his white Bronco instead of Ewing & Hakeem going at it in the NBA finals.

Yeah, the gubmint really provided a safe educational system for the regular kids. What cost to those families. Let's immerse more retards into the general public, we have jamba already

    • mr c, rather than being concerned about gun control (altho, i do favor restrictions on assault weapons , etc) , i think this country should be more concerned about re-creating a system of mental health institutions staffed by people qualified to help the afflicted.

That would be a very expensive undertaking, Pebs.

Methinks it would be a state-sponsored system, not a national commitment. State politicians would rather, or so it seems, warehouse criminals rather than warehouse the populace that is afflicted with mental health problems. Mental health as part of public health is way down the priority list.

No society has ever been so rich and so providential to accomplish all of the problem-solving tasks set before it. Mental health, as a public health issue, is one sector that has been abandoned/overlooked as other public policy matters have been addressed. Politicians go where the votes and campaign contributions can be harvested; the mental health sector is rather weak. All IMHO.
