Persistent rumor is that AAPL has already decided to leave Intel....quad core A6 to do the first damage:
Here's a little poll for you. Go to your local Apple Store and find a true Apple Fan boy. They aren't that hard to find. Ask them about the new MacBook Air with i7 processors and Thunderbolt. Then, just for fun, run by your little idea about how wonderful ARM based laptops are going to be because they will be 1.) Cheaper and 2) Have better battery life. See if you can get them to agree with you.
Apple has never been that great about passing savings on to it's customers. You ARM fans love to play up the battery life issue, like it's your only ace in the hole. Soon that's going to be gone. Only ARM fans are looking forward to the days when Apple produces inferior laptops.
ARM has a few aces...it's not a one trick pony.
If Apple does go over to ARM, be assured the performance will be there.
BULLS**T. Do you guys have any idea how much Intel must be secretly paying Apple to stay exclusive?
Intel paid Dell over 6-BILLION in just a few years to not make AMD products.
I'm sure Apple is getting more than that.
Not making any sense when it's talking about cloud computing using ARM. ARM is not powerful to handle all traffic demand from all mobile devices. The entire clouding computing is based x86+linux ecosystem. Many storage and network devices these days are using x86+linux now.
