    • The reason there are proposals by the White House, the FTC and congressional legislation for "Do Not Track" is precisely to discourage further abuse of consumer's information.

      Embedded ID's that customers cannot remove is a bad idea. Intel proposed this years ago and created a public uproar. The idea is just as bad now as it was then.

      If laptop users are concerned about their data in the event of a stolen PC all they have to do is encrypt the entire drive. PC owners don't need big brother protecting them.
