Samsung reportedly jacks up Apple processor prices
[More evidence of Apple's hugely troubled ARM foundry situation. What a mess having to choose between Samsung lawsuits and price increases and TSMC's inability to ramp up or stay on the cutting edge...]
[Twenty percent!!! Ouch, there goes the profit...]
A Korean daily is reporting that Samsung could be about to change its relationship with Apple, for the worse, of course.
Chosun Biz reports that Samsung has increased manufacturing prices for Apple SoCs by almost 20 percent. Apple was apparently forced to accept the new prices, as it lacks viable alternatives. There are other foundries out there, but it seems they can’t meet Apple’s needs for one reason or the other.
Samsung is disgruntled partner who wants to get that $1B back (full refund) from Apple.before they leave. Probably, Samsung got some clear signs that they will be leaving sooner. So it would be a slap on Apple's face and show media that they won the battle before Apple gets out the door.
Yet their is no word from INTC that they will help AAPL out and help the stock holders out. If we made ARMH processors for AAPL with our excess capacity, our stock price would double(about the same PE as TCM) over night. Too bad that clueless clown and the BOD don't make this happen. Must be they want more cheap stock options before the think about doing this.
