Two nice looking products are the Samsung ATIV 500T tablet and the Lenovo ThinkPad2 tablet.
The Samsung ATIV 500T is a tablet that docks to a laptop keyboard. It has an 11.6" screen, WiFi, ethernet, and weighs 1.6 pounds. The $750 price includes the keyboard. Some retailers are saying November 20.
The Lenovo ThinkPad2 is $650 without keyboard and weighs 1.3 pounds. It has a 10.1" screen, WiFi, and cellular. It was scheduled for November 16 but didn't make it.
I just read several reviews on Amazon for that Samsung Clover Trail tablet and the recurring theme was that people were very impressed with Clovertrail and one guy said "wow, Atom has finally matured!" I think Intel may surprise to the upside when it announces Q4 earnings. I was also happy to see some reviewers say that Windows 8 was fine, not "catastrophic" like some of the idiot Analysts (Apple fans) acted like it was.
You can order Clover Trail systems now. I think you meant Surface Pro. Frankly who cares what MSFT does when 3rd party OEMs can deliever Win8 systems now. MSFT has never quite understood the reason for its great success, it was chosen over Macs and other PCs not because it is a great innovator or leader but because it brought the greatest amount of freedom for 3rd party software on its o/s. Once it starts deluding itself it some sort of great technology leader or tries being a control freak like Apple it gets into trouble.
