ARMH chips being associated with junk will only help Intel

Microsoft Surface is generating a lot of interest but interest was not necessarily leading to sales Trip Chowdhry said in a note Monday.

Customers he spoke with are waiting for Microsoft to release a version of Surface running the Windows 8 operating system on Intel chips. Current Surface models run Windows RT on low-power ARM chips.

Sales of Surface tablets would have been five times better than current levels had Microsoft shipped Windows 8 models first, he said.

    • wow excellent analysis NOT.
Microsoft Customers are not going to buy Microsoft products that run RT office that can only run on an ARMH system. No one has called the Surface junk at all, but it ain't cheap and unfortunetly runs win8.
Apple and Samsung are killing the notion that Intel is Chip King. Check out the reviews on Windows 8, WEAK.
