If any US carrier offers a deal similar to Chunghwa Telecom on this tablet - with a decent amount of data, I'm in for at least one, maybe two!
Maybe, the US carriers will wait for LTE availability though...we'll see.
Asus has started taking pre-orders for its first Intel powered tablet – FonePad in Taiwan. The tablet, which was announced at Mobile World Congress last month, will go on sale at the end of March.
Asus FonePad runs on Android 4.1 and comes with 3G connectivity as well as voice-calling support. The tablet is being sold at NT $8,900 ($302) for the 16GB model. Asus has also partnered with Chunghwa Telecom to sell the FonePad on contract. The telco will be subsidizing the tablet and retailing it for free with a two-year contract with monthly plans beginning NT $1,343 ($45.07).
According to Asus, the FonePad will be available at Tsann Kuen Enterprise Co, E-Life Mall Corp, Sunfair Computer Co retail stores as well as Yahoo & PChome online stores.
To remind you, Asus FonePad features a 7-inch 1280x800p display, Intel Atom Z2420 processor, 3MP rear camera, and 1.2MP front camera.
