Weekend tech reading: Haswell starts shipping to PC makers
[Here comes Haswell and there is nothing Wall Street, ARM or the shills can do about it...]
Intel's next-gen 'Haswell' chip now shipping to PC makers Intel's "Haswell" chip is now shipping to major PC makers, a source close to the company told CNET today. Intel's fourth-generation core, aka Haswell, is "shipping to customers now and will launch later this quarter," the source said. Intel is expected to make a statement to this effect at the IDF Beijing conference next week. Haswell, expected by June, is the next-generation mainstream Intel processor that will power ultrabooks and a variety of hybrids that straddle tablet and laptop designs.
so what ? it is not much faster then the current stuff and for hyrbrids my current i3 battery lasts up to 5 hours which is good enough. Just don't see a big deal to pay more for this then the current stuff, but then I dont bring anything to the table. I do most of my work at work !!!! Use my big Android smart phone or tablet on flights and travelling...like most people. Windows sucks anyway...many people are starting to live without Windows altogether. Haswell only slows the bleeding.
